It is a highly competitive exam, and the competition only keeps getting tougher every year. Hence, it is crucial to avoid common mistakes in NEET exam to succeed. In this article, we will discuss the ten common mistakes in NEET exam preparation to avoid.

Common Mistakes in NEET Exam

If you're preparing for NEET 2023 Exam, read this Top 10 common mistakes to avoid in NEET Exam Preparation 2023.

1. Procrastination

One of the biggest mistakes students make during their NEET preparation is procrastinating their studies. They tend to leave their studies for later, thinking they have plenty of time to prepare. However, NEET preparation requires consistent effort and practice. Hence, it is important to create a study schedule and stick to it religiously to avoid procrastination.

2. Lack of Concept Clarity

Another common mistake students make during NEET preparation is not understanding the concepts. NEET exam tests students' understanding of concepts rather than memorization. Hence, it is important to focus on understanding the concepts thoroughly and practicing them through various problem-solving methods. Students should also revise the concepts regularly to avoid forgetting them.

3. Skipping Basic NCERT Textbooks

NEET exam syllabus is based on the NCERT textbooks of class XI and XII. Hence, it is important to study these textbooks thoroughly and understand the concepts in-depth. Skipping the basic NCERT textbooks can lead to a lack of understanding of the concepts and make it difficult to comprehend advanced topics.

4. Over-reliance on Coaching Institutes

Coaching institutes can be helpful in providing guidance and structured study materials. However, relying solely on them can lead to a lack of self-study and self-practice, which is crucial for NEET preparation. It is important to balance coaching classes with self-study and practice.

5. Ignoring Mock Tests

Mock tests are an integral part of NEET preparation, as they help in understanding the exam pattern, time management, and identifying areas of weakness. Ignoring mock tests can lead to a lack of understanding of the exam pattern and can make the actual exam day stressful.

6. Inadequate Time Management

Time management is crucial during NEET preparation, as it involves covering a vast syllabus in a limited time. Students must create a study plan and divide their time efficiently between different subjects and topics. They should also prioritize their weak areas and allocate more time to them.

7. Neglecting Health

NEET preparation can be stressful and tiring, and neglecting one's health can lead to burnout and health issues. Students must prioritize their health and include exercise, a healthy diet, and adequate sleep in their routine.

8. Not Taking Breaks

Continuous study without breaks can lead to exhaustion and lack of focus. It is important to take regular breaks between study sessions to refresh the mind and maintain focus.

9. Lack of Revision

Revision is an important aspect of NEET preparation, as it helps in retaining the concepts and identifying areas that need improvement. Students should make a habit of revising their notes regularly and take mock tests to analyze their preparation.

10. Distractions

Distractions such as social media, online streaming platforms, and gaming can consume a lot of time and reduce productivity. It is important to avoid these distractions during study hours and focus on NEET preparation.

NEET exam preparation requires consistent effort, dedication, and focus. Avoiding these common mistakes can help students achieve their goals and crack the exam with ease. A well-structured study plan, consistent practice, and regular revision are the keys to success in NEET exam 2023.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2023 | NTA Latest Updates

JEE Main 2023 to be postponed? JEE eligibility criteria 2023 relaxed for this year? Are these rumors or are these facts? Keep reading this blog from the best coaching center for JEE Main 2023, VidyaHub to know everything about JEE 2023…

Union Education Minister Dhramendra Pradhan earlier said the plea for one-time modification of qualifying requirements of JEE Main and Advanced examinations "has been referred to the responsible department for required action". He was replying to correspondence from Congress MP Karti P Chidambaram.

"Thank you for your letters of December 2nd, 2022 and December 15th, 2022, requesting a one-time exemption to modify the qualifying criterion for all students taking the JEE Main and Advanced tests in 2023. "The complaint has been sent to the appropriate department for action," Pradhan stated in his response to Chidambaram.

The Congress MP had written to the education minister asking him to alter the qualifying requirements for JEE Main and Advanced as a one-time solution after applicants encountered many problems during last year's tests.

JEE MAIN 2023 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The eligibility criteria for JEE Main, which is the primary entrance examination for admission to engineering colleges in India, are as follows:

  • NATIONALITY: Candidates must be a citizen of India, or a person of Indian origin (PIO) or a foreign national.
  • AGE LIMIT: There is no age limit for JEE Aspirants.
  • QUALIFYING EXAM: Candidates must have passed the Class 12th or equivalent examination from a recognized board in India or abroad. Candidates who are appearing for the Class 12th examination in the current year are also eligible to appear for JEE Main.
  • MINIMUM MARKS: Candidates must have secured a minimum of 75% marks in the Class 12th or equivalent examination, or be in the top 20 percentile of their respective boards for the current academic year. But recently, 75 Percent eligibility criteria were scrapped by the authorities for top 20 percentile scorers of each board
  • SUBJECTS: The qualifying examination should have been passed in Physics, Mathematics, and one of the following subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subject, and a fourth optional subject.
  • APPEARING IN BOTH JEE(MAIN) AND JEE(ADVANCED): Candidates who wish to appear for both JEE Main and JEE Advanced are required to qualify the JEE Main examination.
  • NUMBER OF ATTEMPTS: Candidates can attempt JEE Main for a maximum of 6 times over a period of 3 consecutive years.
  • APPEARING FOR JEE MAIN PAPER 1: Candidates who have passed class 12th or appearing in class 12th examination in the current year and aspiring for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering/technology in NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs participating in the joint seat allocation in the current year shall have to qualify JEE(Main) Paper-1.
  • APPEARING FOR JEE MAIN PAPER 2: Candidates who have passed class 12th or appearing in class 12th examination in the current year and aspiring for admission to undergraduate courses in architecture and planning in the institutes participating in the joint seat allocation in the current year, shall have to qualify JEE (Main) Paper-2.

It is important to note that these criteria may change from year to year, so candidates should check the official website of JEE Main for the most up-to-date information.

In addition, it is also important to note that satisfying the above-mentioned criteria only makes a candidate eligible to appear for the JEE Main examination and meeting these criteria do not guarantee admission in any engineering college. The final selection of candidates for admission is based on the score obtained in JEE Main and the counseling process conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA).

WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF JEE MAIN ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2023 WAS FURTHER RELAXED?

If the JEE Main eligibility criteria were to be relaxed, it would likely have a number of consequences.

One possible consequence is that more students would be able to take the JEE Main examination. For example, if the minimum marks required in the qualifying exam were lowered, more students who may have previously fallen short of the requirement would now be able to take the exam.

This could lead to an increase in the number of candidates taking the JEE Main examination and this would lead to an increase in competition for a limited number of seats. As a result, it could be more difficult for students to secure a place in the engineering colleges of their choice, as the cutoff scores required for admission may be higher than before.

Another consequence would be the quality of the students who get admitted to the college. If the eligibility criteria are relaxed, it means that the bar has been lowered and the standard of students admitted to the college may be less than before. This could have an impact on the overall quality of the student body in engineering colleges, and the standards of the engineering profession may be affected.

Moreover, lowering the criteria would also change the reputation of the exam and college, as college tends to have higher reputation for having students with high standard of academics and intelligence.

It is important to note that these are just possible outcomes, and the actual effects of relaxing the JEE Main eligibility criteria would depend on the specific changes that were made and how they were implemented.

JEE MAIN 2023 EXAM UPDATES DATES

NTA has released the official dates for JEE Main 2023:

REGISTRATION DATE 15 DEC 2022 | 12 JAN 2023
EXAM DATE 24 JAN 2023 | 12 APR 2023

CAN JEE MAIN BE POSTPONED?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) already stated that the JEE (Main) test would be place on January 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31. Session 2 of the test will be held on April 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12.

If the JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is postponed, it is important to stay informed about the new exam dates and any other updates or changes. The National Testing Agency (NTA), the organization responsible for administering the JEE exam, will usually announce any postponements or changes to the exam schedule on their official website and through other channels such as the media and social media. It is important to check these sources regularly for the latest information.

If the exam is postponed, it is also important to continue preparing for the exam as best as you can. You can use the additional time to review your study materials, practice mock exams, and seek help from teachers or tutors if needed. It is also a good idea to stay in touch with your educational institution or any other relevant authorities for updates and guidance on how to proceed.

STRATEGIES TO PREPARE FOR PHYSICS JEE Main 2023

Understand The Syllabus and Exam Pattern

The first step in preparing for any exam is to have a clear understanding of the syllabus and exam pattern. For the JEE, it is important to go through the detailed syllabus and understand the topics that will be covered in the exam. Familiarize yourself with the weightage of each topic, the types of questions that will be asked, and the marking scheme. This will help you prioritize your studies and focus on the most important areas.

Set a study schedule and stick to it

To prepare effectively for the JEE, it is important to have a structured study plan in place. Determine how much time you can realistically dedicate to studying each day and create a schedule that allows you to cover all the topics in the syllabus. It is also important to stick to your schedule and not get sidetracked by other activities.

Practice, practice, practice

The key to success in any exam is practice. Make sure to allocate sufficient time for solving practice questions and mock tests. This will not only help you build your problem-solving skills but also get you accustomed to the exam format and time constraints.

Focus on concepts, not just formulas

While it is important to memorize important formulas and equations, it is equally important to understand the underlying concepts. Make sure to spend time understanding the concepts behind each topic and how they relate to each other. This will help you apply the formulas and solve complex problems more easily.

Take good notes

As you study, make sure to take detailed notes of the concepts you have learned. This will help you revise and retain the information more effectively. You can also use these notes to create your own study materials, such as flashcards and summaries.

Seek help when needed

If you are struggling to understand a particular concept or topic, don't be afraid to ask for help. You can seek help from your teachers, classmates, or online resources. It is better to ask for help early on rather than letting your doubts build up and hinder your progress.

Work on your problem-solving skills

Physics problems often involve multiple steps and require you to apply concepts and formulas in a logical and systematic way. To improve your problem-solving skills, try solving a variety of problems from different sources, such as textbooks, online practice tests, and previous year papers.

Stay up to date with current events

While the JEE primarily covers foundational concepts in physics, it is always a good idea to stay up to date with current events in the field. This will not only help you understand the real-world applications of the concepts you are learning but also give you a broader perspective on the subject.

Take care of your physical and mental health

Preparing for the JEE can be a stressful and demanding process. Make sure to take care of your physical and mental health by getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and taking breaks to relax and recharge.

Stay motivated and focused

It is natural to feel overwhelmed or demotivated at times during your preparation. To stay motivated and focused, it is important to set clear goals for yourself and celebrate your progress as you reach them. You can also seek support from your friends and family to help you stay on track.

WHY ARE PRE-BOARDS IMPORTANT?

Pre-board exams, also known as mock or practice exams, are a common part of the academic calendar for students in Class 10. These exams are typically held a few weeks or months before the final board exams, and are designed to give students an opportunity to practice their skills and assess their readiness for the real exams.

There are several reasons why pre-board exams are important:

  1. PRACTICE: Pre-board exams give students the chance to practice their skills and test their knowledge. This can help identify any areas of weakness that need more attention and give students the opportunity to improve before the final exams. By practicing with exams that are similar in format and content to the final exams, students can develop their test-taking skills and become more comfortable with the exam format.
  2. TIME MANAGEMENT: Pre-board exams help students learn how to manage their time effectively during the exam. They can practice pacing themselves and completing the exam within the allotted time. This is an important skill that will help students perform their best on the final exams, where time is often a limiting factor.
  3. STRESS REDUCTION: Pre-board exams can help reduce stress by giving students a sense of what to expect on the final exams. This can help students feel more confident and prepared on the day of the exam. By experiencing the exam environment and format beforehand, students can become more familiar with the testing process and feel more at ease on exam day.
  4. FEEDBACK: Pre-board exams provide students with feedback on their performance. This can help students understand their strengths and areas for improvement, and guide their study efforts in the lead-up to the final exams. By identifying areas of weakness and addressing them before the final exams, students can increase their chances of success.
  5. MOTIVATION: Pre-board exams can help motivate students to study and prepare for the final exams. By seeing their progress and improvement on the mock exams, students can feel more confident in their ability to succeed on the final exams. This can also help students stay focused and motivated in their studies as they prepare for the final exams.
  6. PARENT AND TEACHER INVOLVEMENT: Pre-board exams can provide an opportunity for parents and teachers to be involved in the students' academic progress. By reviewing the results of the mock exams, parents and teachers can identify areas of weakness and work with the students to address them. This can help ensure that students are well-prepared for the final exams and have the support they need to succeed.

Pre-board exams are an important part of the academic process for Class 10 students. They provide valuable practice, help students develop good time management and test-taking skills, and give students an opportunity to assess their readiness for the final exams. By taking advantage of the opportunities provided by pre-board exams, students can increase their chances of success on the final exams and set themselves up for academic success in the future. So, the importance of pre boards in class 10th cannot be ignored.

CLASS 10TH BOARD EXAMS

Let’s talk about what exactly are class 10th board exams.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a national level board of education in India for public and private schools, controlled and managed by the Union Government of India. CBSE conducts the final examinations for Class 10 every year in the month of March.

The Class 10 board exams are a crucial milestone in a student's academic career as they mark the transition from secondary school to higher secondary school. The results of these exams are often considered as a benchmark for a student's future academic and professional prospects.

It consists of both theoretical and practical examinations. The theoretical examinations are usually held in the morning session, while the practical examinations are held in the afternoon session. The theoretical examinations are based on the syllabus prescribed by CBSE and cover all the subjects studied by the student during the academic year.

The practical examinations, on the other hand, are conducted to assess the student's practical skills and knowledge in subjects such as science, mathematics, and computer science. These practical exams are usually conducted at the school level, under the supervision of a teacher.

The CBSE Class 10 board exams are graded on a nine-point grading scale, with grades ranging from A1 (highest) to E (lowest). A student who scores 90% or above is awarded an A1 grade, while a student who scores between 75% and 89% is awarded an A2 grade. A student who scores between 60% and 74% is awarded a B1 grade, while a student who scores between 50% and 59% is awarded a B2 grade.

In order to prepare for the CBSE Class 10 board exams, it is important for students to start preparing early and follow a systematic study schedule. This involves going through the entire syllabus and revising the concepts learned during the year, solving sample papers and previous years' question papers, and seeking the help of teachers and tutors when needed.

It is also important for students to manage their time effectively and avoid last-minute cramming. They should also ensure that they get enough rest and stay healthy during the exam season.

It is possible to prepare for the Class 10 board exams in three months if the student has been consistently following their studies throughout the year and has a good understanding of the concepts. However, it is important to note that preparing for the Class 10 board exams in a short period of time can be challenging and may require the student to put in extra effort and dedication.

Here are some steps that a student can follow to prepare for the Class 10 board exams in three months:

We only move forward together, otherwise we don’t.
  2. CREATE A STUDY SCHEDULE: It is important to create a study schedule and allocate enough time for each subject. The student should also include revision and practice sessions in their schedule. If you don’t think you will be able to create a schedule yourself then don’t hesitate, you can always ask the teachers at VidyaHub and they will help you each and every time.
  3. REVIEW THE CONCEPTS LEARNED: The student should go through the concepts learned during the year and revise them regularly. They should also seek the help of teachers or tutors if they are struggling to understand any concepts. At VidyaHub, once the syllabus is finished in our classrooms, we start the revision process. That is why all our students remember the books from start to end. The secret is always REVISION.
  4. PRACTICE SAMPLE PAPERS AND PREVIOUS YEARS' QUESTION PAPERS: Practicing sample papers and previous years' question papers helps the student to get an idea of the exam pattern and the type of questions that may be asked in the exams. It also helps them to improve their time management skills. Ever tried the sample papers that VidyaHub’s teachers prepare for students? No? Then you haven’t really started preparing for your class 10th board exams.
  5. STAY HEALTHY: It is important for the student to take care of their health during the exam season. They should eat a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and get enough sleep. This will help them to stay focused and perform well in the exams. We at VidyaHub, place health over marks always. If you are healthy then you can always become a better version of yourself. Everything is temporary, but time isn’t.
  6. SEEK SUPPORT: If the student is feeling overwhelmed, they should seek support from their parents, teachers, or friends. This will help them to cope with the stress and perform well in the exams. Teachers of VidyaHub are like friends. You want to talk to them about something, they are available 24X7!

Preparing for the Class 10 board exams in three months is possible if the student follows a systematic study schedule, revises the concepts learned regularly, and practices sample papers and previous years' question papers. • Age: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit for NEET.
  • Educational qualification: Candidates must have passed their class 12th examination or equivalent with physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.

After the NEET exam, the NTA releases a merit list of qualified candidates based on their scores on the exam. Candidates who have qualified for NEET are eligible to participate in the NEET counselling process.

The NEET counselling process is the process by which students who have qualified for NEET are allocated seats in medical and dental colleges in India. There may be several rounds of counselling, and students who are not allotted a seat in the first round can participate in the subsequent rounds.

 WHAT IS NEET COUNSELLING

The NEET counselling process is the process by which students who have qualified for NEET are allocated seats in medical and dental colleges in India. It is a centralized counselling process, which means that it is conducted by a single authority on behalf of all participating states and institutions.

The counselling process for NEET typically consists of the following steps:

  1. REGISTRATION: Students who have qualified for NEET need to register for the counselling process through the official website of the counselling authority. They will be required to provide their personal, academic and contact details, as well as their NEET score and rank.
  2. CHOICE FILLING AND LOCKING: After registering, students need to select the colleges and courses they wish to apply to, and rank them in order of preference. They will also need to pay a counselling fee at this stage.
  3. SEAT ALLOTMENT: Based on the choices filled by the students and the availability of seats in the colleges, the counselling authority will allocate seats to the students. Seat allotment is based on the rank of the students and the availability of seats in the colleges they have applied to.
  4. REPORTING TO THE ALLOTTED COLLEGE: Students who have been allotted a seat need to report to the college and complete the admission process. They will need to bring all the required documents, such as their NEET scorecard, mark sheets, identity proof, and so on.

There are several rounds of counselling, and students who are not allotted a seat in the first round can participate in the subsequent rounds. The counselling process may also include a spot counselling round, in which students can apply for any remaining seats that may have become available.

In addition to the above steps, the counselling process for NEET may also include the following:

  • DOCUMENT VERIFICATION: Students need to bring all the required documents to the counselling centre for verification. These documents include their NEET scorecard, mark sheets, identity proof, and so on.
  • MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Students who are allotted a seat may also need to undergo a medical examination to ensure that they are fit to pursue a course in the medical field.
  • PAYMENT OF FEES: Students who are allotted a seat will need to pay the required fees to confirm their admission.

The NEET counselling process is a crucial step for students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in the medical and dental fields in India. It is important for students to carefully review the counselling process and the requirements, and be prepared with all the necessary documents and fees to ensure a smooth and successful admission process.

 WHY IS NEET COUNSELLING IMPORTANT?

NEET counselling is an important process for students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in the medical and dental fields in India. There are several reasons why NEET counselling is important:

  1. It ensures that seats in medical and dental colleges are allocated to the most qualified and deserving candidates: NEET counselling is based on the rank of the students and the availability of seats in the colleges they have applied to. This ensures that seats are allocated to the most qualified candidates, as their NEET rank reflects their performance on the entrance exam.
  2. It ensures a fair and transparent admissions process: The counselling process is open to all eligible candidates who have qualified for NEET, and it provides an equal opportunity for all candidates to apply for seats in their preferred colleges. This ensures that the admissions process is fair and transparent, as all eligible candidates have an equal chance to secure a seat.
  3. It is an efficient way for students to apply for seats in medical and dental colleges: NEET counselling allows students to apply to multiple colleges and courses at once, and makes it easy for them to track the status of their application. This saves students time and effort, as they do not need to apply to each college individually.
  4. It helps to ensure that students are placed in the most suitable colleges: The counselling process allows students to rank their preferred colleges and courses in order of preference. This helps to ensure that students are placed in the colleges that best suit their interests and career goals.
  5. It helps to ensure that students are medically fit to pursue a course in the medical field: The counselling process may include a medical examination to ensure that students are physically and mentally fit to pursue a course in the medical field. This is important, as the medical field requires a high level of physical and mental stamina.

NEET counselling is an important process that helps to ensure that students who wish to pursue undergraduate courses in the medical and dental fields in India have a fair and efficient way to apply for and secure a seat in their preferred colleges. It is a crucial step in the admissions process, and helps to ensure that the most qualified and deserving candidates are placed in the most suitable colleges.

 WHAT COMES AFTER NEET COUNSELLING?

After completing the NEET counselling process, students who have been allotted a seat in a medical or dental college need to report to the college and complete the admission process. This typically includes the following steps:

  1. PAYMENT OF FEES: Students who have been allotted a seat need to pay the required fees to confirm their admission. The fees may vary depending on the college and course.
  2. DOCUMENT VERIFICATION: Students need to bring all the required documents to the college for verification. These documents may include their NEET scorecard, mark sheets, identity proof, and so on.
  3. MEDICAL EXAMINATION: Some colleges may also require students to undergo a medical examination to ensure that they are fit to pursue a course in the medical field.
  4. ORIENTATION: After completing the admission process, students may need to attend an orientation program at the college. This is typically a one-day program that introduces students to the college, its facilities, and the rules and regulations.
  5. COMMENCEMENT OF CLASSES: After completing the admission process and orientation, students can start attending classes. The academic year in medical and dental colleges in India typically starts in August or September.

It is important for students to carefully review the admission process and requirements of their allotted college, and be prepared with all the necessary documents and fees to ensure a smooth and successful admission process.

After completing the NEET counselling process and the admission process at the college, students will begin their undergraduate course in the medical or dental field. This typically includes a combination of theoretical and practical learning, as well as clinical rotations and internships. Students will be required to complete the course within a certain time period, and will need to pass exams and assessments to progress to the next level.

Upon completion of the undergraduate course, students will be awarded a degree in the medical or dental field, such as an MBBS or BDS. They may then choose to pursue further studies, such as a postgraduate degree or specialty training, or enter the workforce as a medical or dental professional.

It is natural to feel anxious or stressed during the NEET counselling process, as it is an important and competitive process that can have a significant impact on your future. Here are some tips that may help you stay calm during the NEET counselling process:

 JEE 2023

JEE stands for Joint Entrance Examination. It is a competitive examination in India for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses at various engineering colleges and institutes in the country. There are two main JEE exams: JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

JEE Main is the more widely-known of the two exams and is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a gateway exam for admission to various National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTIs). It is a computer-based test (CBT) that consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

JEE Advanced, on the other hand, is considered to be more challenging and is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). It is the final stage of the JEE examination and is held for admission to the undergraduate programs at the IITs. Only the top candidates from JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. Like JEE Main, JEE Advanced is also a CBT that consists of MCQs in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

Both JEE Main and JEE Advanced are highly competitive exams and are considered to be among the toughest engineering entrance exams in the world. The exams are held annually, usually in the months of April and May.
